My New Urban Cottage & An Historic San Diego Inn

Dear SDP Friends,

I hope you are all having a good November. My hubby Steve and I moved into a San Diego high-rise in October and we've been busy turning our new place into our cozy "urban cottage." Once the movers unloaded the truck, within seven days, Steve and I worked together to get our home and home office totally unpacked, organized, decorated, and re-purposed using our dollarwise decorating M.O. It's totally done, and...

Our welcome sign is out for you! I hope you enjoy the tour of our new home and neighborhood. The above painting hangs near our new front door and was painted by my client and friend Erin Houghton of The Painted Garden. She does beautiful seaside cottage work if you'd like original art for your own home, a friend, or client. Not to mention she's a dear person who also donates some of her art to breast cancer research.

If you like noticing design and decorating when you travel, and are looking for an incredible place to stay in San Diego, CA, be sure to check out the article I wrote for Country Victorian magazine recently about the "green" and gorgeous Britt
Scripps Inn. It would be a lovely place to get married at too! My hubby and I stayed there in 2008 and it's one of the best inns I have ever stayed in, out of the 60+ we have visited all across the U.S. I hope you enjoy my article.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kathryn :)
